No Plant vs Weed This Week

Plantweed has been decimated by snails and I'm pissed. No picture this week. I can't bear it. I decided to bring him inside which means that now I have to worry he won't get enough sun because I hardly get any sun inside my house. I have him in the kitchen window cubby thing and that means I had to evict the cat. I also have to worry that he won't get enough water because I always forget to water my plants. I'm beginning to think that I'm just not meant to grow anything other than cacti and succulents. It's depressing.

In other news...

Is anyone watching HBO's new show, Girls? I'm too old by about 13 years to be watching this show but I really like it. It's quirky and very Sex in the City-esque despite what the show's creator says. Instead of women in their 30s and 40s, it's girls in their 20s. I love Hannah. She has such a dry sense of humor and she also epitomizes what is wrong with today's teens and 20-somethings...that belief that they're entitled to everything instead of having to actually work for what they want. Anyway, I hope people are watching so that HBO brings it back for a second season.

And this time last year, the Mister and I were on our anniversary vaca in Paso Robles. ::sigh:: I could use another vacation. We don't have any big plans for our anniversary this year. We're going to do something that involves drinking our bottle of Merlot that Rotta Winery gifted us last year and that we were saving to drink this year. Pretty excited about that. It was an award winning vintage.

Post Anniversary Post

Thanks to everyone who called, left comments, or sent e-mail happy anniversary wishes. It was much appreciated. We had a really good night. Had time permitted, we were going to go to The Little Dipper which is a fondue restaurant in Wilmington but it's a drive and we didn't have the time to get down there. So, we went to the Lobster instead which is always a winner with me. The food was great and we had really excellent service (always do at this one) and I got to make fun of Miss Big Boobs while I ate. If I could have discreetly gotten a pic of her with my phone, I would have because believe me, she was a sight to behold.

After dinner, we went to the new Barnes and Noble and the Mister and I each bought two new books. Is that bliss or what?

Then we came home, played Mario Kart for a bit (heheh) and went to bed. Both of the dogs slept with us because they normally sleep with the oldest child and she wasn't home. They were lost and pathetic without her. So between the Mister's snoring, Hannah's snoring, the rain, and the heat, I didn't get any sleep last night. We have had a most awesome weekend so it's all good.

I have my final project of the semester that I'm working on so that's it for today. Laters.

Happy 12th

Today is my 12th anniversary. We managed to wrangle an overnight babysitter for the kids so we're going out to dinner tonight. We were thinking of staying overnight in Myrtle Beach but don't have a dogsitter for the dogs, lol. You wouldn't think it, but dogs impede travel plans more than kids do. But that's okay. Dinner alone is just fine with me. We already exchanged gifts which was AWESOME. I got the hubby an OSU front license plate (we don't have to have front license plates here in N.C.), an OSU license plate frame for the rear, and OSU tire valve covers, hehehehehe. He really liked them and immediately went out and put them on his car. He got me a bottle of Valentino perfume which I have been wanting for about two years now. I LOVE it!! It smells so good. I even like the box that it came in, lol. He ordered it from Sephora since none of the stores around here sell it.

We're not dropping the kids off until about 6 tonight so we're going to wash both the cars this morning (we still have pollen issues) and pick up the yard. Not very romantic but I just want to do something that involves being out of the house. It's an absolutely gorgeous morning and I want to enjoy it.

I'm off. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend as much as I am going to.

Here's Some Stuff for Ya

I did end up getting another rat. I got him locally here at a smallish pet store rather than PetSmart (no offense to PetSmart, but the last four rats I've gotten from there have died). His name is Buddy and he is doing really well. I didn't want to post about it until I was sure he was going to be okay. I even waited a few days before naming him. He's very funny though and the whole family likes him.

Next on my list is that the Mister's anniversary present arrived in the mail yesterday. I'm so VERY excited about it because I know that I did really good this year. I wish I could tell you all what I got, but he reads my blog. It's killing me keeping it a secret though, heheh.

And lastly, I think I've mentioned being a Bzz Agent before. I have to say, if you don't Bzz, you're really missing out. For those of you who haven't heard of it, what it is, is a word of mouth campaign where you get to test out products and then tell people what you think about them. Bzz sends you the products for free (sometimes they are downloads which is how I discovered Brother Odd), you test them out, tell your friends about the stuff and hand out coupons, fill out a survey, and then, YOU GET TO KEEP WHAT THEY SEND YOU. And it's not crappy stuff either. I've been a member since around September of 2006 and I've gotten a Sonicare toothbrush and a Sonicare UV Sanitizer, various stuff from Ziplock, Pledge, Windex, and Scrubbing Bubbles, and some other odds and ends. What is my next product??? A Logitech Harmony One universal remote control. The cost of this remote at Best Buy??? $249.99 and I'm getting it for free. I'm totally excited. The Mister and I have been wanting one of these gadgets for a long time. In fact, we tried one out 4 or 5 years ago but it sucked and we returned it to the store. My remote should be here any day now and I will be sure to post pictures and opinions when it arrives. Check out Bzz Agent and see what you think. It's free to sign up and I'd appreciate a referral if you do. ;)
