Exercise is Bad for Your Health
This has been an eventful day. First, we've been having problems with house flies. They're freaking everywhere. So, I've been spraying the crap out of my house with bug spray lately. We're probably going to die of bug spray inhalation, lol. Today, in addition to flies, I also had a wasp get into the house. FYI, Raid Flying Insect spray is excellent.
Also, we decided to move Bailey from the front yard to the back yard and train her to do her business in the fields behind our house. Well, I go to hook her tie out to the back steps and there is the neatest (if you're into those things) spider I've ever seen in real life. Here's a picture of it.
If anyone happens to know what kind of spider this is, I'd be interested to know. Leave a comment. Then, after I proceeded to beat at it with a large branch, it ran off and I tied Bailey to the steps. Stupid person that I am, I didn't unlock the back door. So, I unhooked Bailey from her tie out thinking (again, being stupid) that she'd go to the front door to be let in the house. Boy, was I wrong. She took off like a bat out of hell and ran clear down the back of our road 5 houses down. The girls and I chased her down there ( crying the whole way) and then I had to drag her back since she's too heavy to carry very far. I'm telling ya, if she hadn't stopped, she would've been a homeless dog tonight I was so mad.
Now, I'm pooped from chasing the dog and half dragging, half carrying her home, which she's lucky she still has. I'm ready for a nap. But, I have an algebra assignment due today and I decided to make homemade chicken and noodles for dinner. Making noodles is a chore in itself. So, just thought I'd share my day. Here's a couple more pictures of Bailey, The Dog Who Lived.
This first picture is the Boxer Smile. She doesn't do that all the time, but it cracks us up when she does. She looks so dopey.
The second picture is Bailey and her friend Buster playing in our front yard. He comes to visit her every so often.

The Wonders of a Blog
I found out yesterday that we missed seeing a friend of ours while we were in Ohio by mere days. HowEVER, if he had kept up with our Blog, he would have known when we were going to be there and we could have planned accordingly. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! Cedar Point is much more fun when you go with a group of people, moron.
Anyway, you can definitely tell summer is almost over in Vermont. It got down to 46 last night. We went to bed with the windows open and we froze our tushes off. I'm sure the leaves will start changing anytime now. It's almost 11 am and still only 57 outside right now. BRRRR! I can do without the snow, but we're looking forward to seeing how Bailey does this winter. She doesn't even like to go outside when it's raining, lol. The other day, was going to let her outside and she took one look and saw that it was raining and peed on the floor right in front of the door. So much for Boxers being a vicious breed of dog. The only people that would think that are people that have never actually been around one.
Well, time again to hit the books. Laters.

Just Chillin'
With my new refrigerator!! It finally came today. 5 weeks with no refrigerator sucks royally let me tell ya. Our new one is super duper nice too. I had to wait all day for it to be delivered so we don't really have any food in it yet, but it'll hold tons and keep it all fresh. All we have to do is hook up the ice maker and water filter thingy and figure out how to shove it into the space where it goes, lol. Woohoo!

Life at the New House
We're sorta settling in. I haven't unpacked too much because we're painting everything and I don't see the point in unpacking just to shove it all in the middle of the room and covering it with plastic. The kitchen isn't getting painted so it's mostly put back together. Half of the living room is almost painted so I'll be able to unpack and put some furniture away. We haven't picked out a color for the dining room yet or our bedroom. I've been so stinking busy lately. I've been ready for bed at 9 o'clock, lol. I'm covered in three different colors of paint and my hands are so sore from painting I can barely make a fist. I know, I know. It'll all be worth it when I'm done. Blah. I also started my next class today. Fun, fun.
Our weather has been absolutely great though. Not too hot, not too cold and the humidity is real low so the paint dries fast. It couldn't be more perfect. But get this, our fire danger is high. I thought we left all that behind when we moved from Cali. If Vermont burns down like San Diego did, we're moving to a swamp. There have already been several brush fires around the state.
Well, I'm gonna grab some breakfast and get started painting for the day.

We Are Official Home Owners
We are completely moved into the new house. It took 3 days altogether to get all our junk moved. Closing on the house went smoothly. Getting all our stuff moved and getting the old house cleaned was a big pain though. The next time we move, I'm hiring a cleaning service. Our new house is awesome. We love it even with it being a jungle of boxes. We're sore, bruised and tired, but otherwise well. We're trying to get some r&r, so this is all the update you all are getting for now. Laters.

What a Nice Day
Too bad I had to spend it indoors packing. It actually got up to 63 here today. That's a veritable heat wave for Vermont. The girls are outside playing and enjoying the first truly nice day we've had so far this year. I, however, have spent the entire day running errands and packing. I will never again complain about TMO movers. They can break all my stuff just so long as I don't have to pack it. I've also been busy making calls. I've had to call U-Haul, the cable company, the trash company, the electric company. I still need to call someone about water and sewage but darned if I can find out who does that for here.
Stupid people. As I sit here typing, some idiot is sitting in the middle of the intersection waiting to drive through it. Umm. Doesn't it make more sense to wait behind the stop sign and let traffic through?? Idiots.
Anyway, I also still need to call the oil company to have our service switched. There is SOOO much to do when you're moving. There's things about this house I'm going to miss. Like, all the room, the deck, the huge yard, the creek that I can hear running out behind our house, our nice neighbor, the views, and our family room. I'm not going to miss the leaky sky lights, my rotten land lord, the mysterious smells that stink up the house from time to time, the flies, earwigs and hornets, the huge oil bill, the lousy fridge and stove, and the slanty floors. I suppose there's always going to be things that you love and hate about any house you live in. I just can't wait to get started on the decorating in the new house.

Daylight Savings Sucks
Why does one hour make so much difference in the morning?
I've been pretty busy packing lately. If someone wanted to pay for us to have movers, I wouldn't object, lol. I spent 7 hours on Saturday just in 2 rooms and didn't even get them all packed. We have so much junk. I need to learn to not be such a pack rat. So far so good with the house and loan and stuff though. We close in 9 days. Any birthday or holiday gifts should come in the form of Home Depot gift cards from now on, lol. We're gonna be spending some mad money in there in the next couple years.
We're still waiting on Spring. Almost all of our snow has melted. It's been raining like crazy here. Supposedly, it's going to get into the 60's tomorrow, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Other than house stuff and the weather, lol, nothing else has been going on at our house. Till next time...

Home Again, Home Again...
We made it back safe and sound late Tuesday night. We're beginning to hate the drive from Vermont to Ohio. 14 hours in a car isn't fun no matter how you look at it. The girls made it to school yesterday despite being up so late the night before. They've missed so much school lately it's pathetic.
Domino went bye bye while we were gone. We don't miss him. He was a pain and didn't have half the personality that Chloe has. Chloe, however, is being a pain herself since we've been back. She always makes us pay for leaving her. She's been kicking her litter everywhere and dumping her food dish. She'll settle down after a couple of days, but until then she's going to drive me crazy.
This is the first day of the last week of my current class. I'll be so glad to get that class over with. It was boring as all get out. Being in Ohio made me fall behind, so I had a lot of catch up to do in one day.
Now, we're just trying to hash out a few things with the new house and get settled back into our regular routine.
One of the radio stations on the way back was having people call in with their favorite or most hated reality tv show. It made me realize that I like very few reality shows and couldn't pick just one that I hate the most. Who's with me? I can't stand any of the dating and marriage shows, Survivor, or American Idol. and I both like Project Greenlight, Last Comic Standing and American Chopper. I like Wife Swap and Super Nanny. The people on those shows are so annoying, lol.
Something else we saw on the way home was that there is an Iwo Jima Memorial in Connecticut. We saw a sign for it and I looked it up on the internet to see what, exactly, it was. It looks neat and we'll have to stop there sometime.
Has anyone read The Da Vinci Code? Some Catholic cardinal is warning people against reading it, lol. I read it and enjoyed it and recommend it to others. Good thing I'm not Catholic I guess, heheh.
Anyway, Happy Saint Patrick's Day. Don't forget to wear your green.

Pictures and Other Things
I've posted some pictures of the house we're buying. There's more on the realtor's website, but I haven't posted those yet. So, starting from the top and working our way down, I'll explain what you're looking at.
The first picture is of the dining area. We're thinking of using it for an office area and putting the kitchen table next to the kitchen, behind the fireplace though. That's something we'll figure out for sure when we get our junk moved in. The light that you can sorta see at the top of the picture, we plan on replacing that with a ceiling fan light deal. I hate the one hanging there.
The second picture is of one of the bedrooms. They both basically look the same. One is going to be the girls' bedroom and the other will be their toy room since they've decided they want us to put their bunkbeds together and share a room again.
The third pic is the living room looking towards the front door and coat closet. The border will be the first thing to go and I plan on painting. What color? I haven't decided yet.
The next pic is the master bedroom looking at the closet. Again, I plan on painting that room too. Color has yet to be determined.
The next pic is the master bath. Across from the toilet is the shower and behind me is the oversized tub. I love that bathroom. The fixtures have to go though.
The next pic is the living room, I was standing back by the front door, looking towards the kitchen. In this angle, behind the fireplace is where we're thinking of putting the kitchen table.
Next is the laundry room.
Next is one of the girls' bedrooms again looking at the closet and out the door.
The last picture is the girls'/guest bathroom.
I think that's the grand tour basically. I'll post more pictures another time. We're getting ready to go to Ohio today when gets off of work. Our grandfather passed away last night, so we'll be in Ohio for the funeral and stuff until Tuesday. So, I need to finish up cleaning the house and load the car so we can go as soon as calls to say they're done with him. Till later.

Our Snow Storm
Some more pictures. This time it's the storm we got on Wednesday night and all day Thursday. We got a foot, or something like that, of snow. It took C an hour to dig out and that was with the help of our neighbor and their snow blower. Today, C dug our car out of the driveway so that I could go grocery shopping. Gotta love Vermont. Also, in almost all those pictures, you should be able to see mountains in the distance but it was snowing so hard you could barely see anything at all.

PSA and Other Stuff
I got my first call from a telemarketer on my cell phone tonight. Do yourselves a favor and go to www.donotcall.gov to register your cell phone numbers if you haven't already.
As for everything else, we're all doing ok here in Vermont. Snow, snow, snow, but that's just Vermont. The girls are having a great time playing in it this year. We got them a coupla sleds so they go out almost everyday sledding in our backyard.
We got our Christmas tree up and decorated. I just love it. It's huge, lol. I named it Jose, heheh. No, I wasn't drinking eggnog at the time either. I have most of my shopping done, which is more than I can say most years at this time. I haven't wrapped anything yet though, lol. We're having a hard time keeping Chloe out of our tree and the presents that are already under there. I've had to re-wrap two presents so far. She also scoots her cage so that it's up against the tree so that she can chew the branches through her cage, lol. She just as bad as a dog.
I can't think of too much else that's going on. I mainly was posting because of the do not call thing. I hate telemarketers. I'm thinking I hear an echo anyway. So, I'm done for now. Laters.

The title doesn't really have a purpose. It's just something to remember.
Anyway, the girls had a great Halloween. Their costumes and makeup turned out great. We drove to an actual neighborhood so they'd have houses to go to. There aren't enough places in our little rinky dink town for them to walk to, lol. But, they got the goods and had fun so Halloween was a success this year.
This time change deal is for the birds. I don't like being tired at 10pm, lol. I almost wish we lived in Indianapolis or Arizona where they're smart enough not to have daylight savings time.
The elections are tomorrow. Everyone ready to vote and for the ad campaigns to stop???? I sure am. The Redskins lost last night. Anyone know how that relates to the presidential elections? Kinda interesting and scary if you're hoping Bush wins.
got his promotion today. He's officially a Staff Sergeant now. I didn't get to go to the "ceremony" cuz I would've had to take the girls out of school and stick my neighbor with having to find someone to watch her daughter, but from what said, I didn't miss anything. His command sucks dog crap. What else needs to be said?
Now, I gotta get Sid ready for the bus. So, that's that. I hope everyone is still keeping up with the Blog...
Anyway, the girls had a great Halloween. Their costumes and makeup turned out great. We drove to an actual neighborhood so they'd have houses to go to. Nothing much to say, just trying to be more consistent. Ummmm, let's see. Can you all believe the gas prices?? I just paid $2.02 today. Geez.
Wanna hear something funny?? I got a letter today from C's CO congratulating me on his selection to Staff Sergeant. I just thought that was funny cuz it's his promotion, not mine. Oh well.

TGIF!!
Yesterday, I decided to buy bulbs to plant for the spring. I spent three hours yesterday digging up my yard and I have about 4 or 5 more hours of work today and I'm feeling the pain this morning, lol. I got daffodils, crocuses, and lots of tulips. The pain will totally be worth it when they come up next year. I can hardly wait, lol.
I also drove around and took some early Fall pictures. I guess the locals hate that around here, lol, people pulling off to the side of the road to take fall foliage pictures. But oh well. I don't care. I plan on taking pictures of all the different stages of the seasons here. The trees are already amazing. I don't know if it's just because we haven't seen Fall in about 6 or 7 years or if it's just Vermont, but some of these trees look like they're on fire they're so brightly colored. It's not even peak leaf time yet.
We had the girls' Open House last night. We talked to both of their teachers and toured their classrooms as well as the Library and Music Room. Their school is really big. I didn't realize that until we walked around it yesterday. Both of their teachers told me that the girls are doing great in school this year. That's such a relief for us to hear, lol.
Well, that's it for today. Hopefully, after I get done planting my flowers, I'll still be able to move enough to update tomorrow, lol. Later.

Car Foibles
I discovered two things today while out running errands. The first has to do with coming home from my friend's house Saturday night. As I was driving along, the minivan in front of me came to a sudden stop and I could see a skunk rolling around underneath their van. The skunk, narrowly escaping death, looked me dead in the eye, then proceeded to run in front of my car and into the brush alongside of the road. The smell was atrocious and....has lingered as I found out this morning. (I was busy playing slug Sunday and Monday) Big ugh!! I'm not sure what to do about the smell, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
Then this afternoon, I was at the Shell station getting gas. When I opened up the gas door I heard this "plop" sound. I looked over at the ground to see a large toad writhing on the ground in front of my tire. It was all black from car and road dirt and flopping around on it's back. It was absolutely disgusting. I had to back up when I was ready to leave to avoid further smashing it under my tire. C said that I should've just run it over and put it out of its misery, but I couldn't stand the thought of toad guts all over the car. EEEWWW!!

We found out this morning that C got selected for Staff Sergeant!! Woohoo!! He'll probably pin it on in February. Oh, that's E-6 for yous that don't know. This is a great pick-me-up for us. It's been a rough month around here. But, YAY!!

2 Posts in One Day. Don't Get Used to It.
I just had to say that I ended up hanging out at a friend's house tonight. I just got home actually. We had a great time commiserating together. Sometimes, there's nothing like a fellow RD wife to get you through the day, lol. Plus, our kids play really great together, so they all keep each other entertained.
C should be home shortly, but who knows anymore. He's bringing a buddy with him to stay over cuz they both have to go down to Mass. tomorrow to get their butts chewed. Misery loves company I guess.
And that's definitely that for today.

It's Saturday. What're you doing?
Big fat zippo on our end. C working the entire weekend, I'm chatting with a friend online, and the girls are playing Mario Cart on the GameCube. Yay! I think I might get out of the house and go to a friend's today. It's dull sitting at home all the time. I get bored a lot more often since I don't have any school work to keep me busy. I like having the time off, but miss it at the same time. Know what I mean?
The girls are doing good. School's going great for them. They're both doing really good this year. There's no school on Monday for a work day thing,so they have a three day weekend. Yay for them.
C and I are fine. He has work but nothing's new on the front. However, I got some really good news this week. My sister is going to have a baby! I'm so excited for her. She is due May 17th. My little sister, awww. Lol. I can't wait.

Remembering
How is everyone choosing to remember September 11? It's pretty basically just a day of reflection for me. Remembering where and how I heard the news, how I spent that day and the days following, etc. We're not doing anything specific such as festivals and things like that that other people are doing. I do plan on putting candles in the windows though. C had to leave first thing this morning for an overnighter with his poolees, so he won't even be here. The girls don't even remember it or understand much of why this is a special day in our history. But, even going about our day like normal, there's a nugget of gloom in the back of my mind like a shadow hanging over the day. ANYway...
I hope everyone takes the time to remember those who died on September 11th and those that risk their lives everyday to try and ensure something like that never happens to the United States again.

Being Old
Today is C 27th Birthday. He had to work, is in fact still at work, but doesn't have to go down to Mass. tonight, so at least we'll get to see him at some point today hopefully. Like I already said, we don't have anything special planned. It's hard to plan something when he works every waking hour of every stinking day, but whatever.
Today, I watched my friend's daughter for her and negotiated my babysitting contract with the neighbor, lol. I have a pretty good deal where that's concerned so it's all good.
The girls both had good days at school. They both had gym today. Nothing exciting where they're concerned. If, however, anyone has tips on how to make kids clean their rooms, it'd be much appreciated. I swear, I'm one minute away from boxing up all their toys and giving them to some charity.
It's been a relatively boring day. It's raining, of course, and it's supposed to get worse since what's left over of Frances will be here soon. I guess this is the third wettest summer on record according to the local weather people. Woohoo. How nice for us.

Little Wishes
So, anyway, last week was dull. I like dull weeks. Besides family crap rearing it's ugly head, things for us here in Vermont are going good. I still think that someone should invent a filtering device for phones and make them sorta like e-mail. I'm thinking something like having a subject line. When someone calls, they have to state their business into a recorder type deal. Then when the phone rings into your house, you can hear what they want before you allow their call to come through. If it's your pesky friend that needs a babysitter for the weekend, you can just hit a button that says you're not home and you'll get back to them. Then, you mysteriously never get the message. If it's a friend calling to say they're paying back some money they owe you, you can answer it cuz that's a cool call. If it's a bill collector, you can hit a button saying that they've called the wrong number, lmao. Something like that would make my day.
Well, now that I'm done dreaming, how was everyone's holiday weekend? Three day weekends are great. It's nice being able to sleep in for a few days. 6:30 is really early in the morning, lol. C had Sunday off and we spent the day being slugs around the house and then grilling out dinner.

The Famous Bus Incident of 2004
I was finally able to talk to someone at the school about what happened. The girls' story turned out to be true, lol. They got into trouble for "singing and giggling" on the bus. Apparently, there is a no singing rule on the buses even though this isn't listed in the Bus Rules handbook. Whatever. There isn't anything that's going to happen to them, they were just told to stop. However, the reason for the crying turned out to be the 7th grade girl harassing them. She's been reprimanded and told that one more incident will result in her not being allowed to ride the bus anymore. How completely retarded is this whole thing? I'm just glad it's done with.
As for other news, C still working the fair. It totally sucks. He didn't get home till 1am this morning, then had to get up at 4am to be in Massachusetts this morning. What a crock of bull. He's worked that stinking fair everyday except for one. That's another crock of bull if you ask me. Sometimes, and this is one of those times, I'm just not willing to make excuses for why RD sucks. There is none for why somebody is only getting 3 hours of sleep a night.
