Thursday Meme

The Thursday meme courtesy of Booking Through Thursday.

What’s your favorite book that nobody else has heard of? You know, not Little Women or Huckleberry Finn, not the latest best-seller . . . whether they’ve read hem or not, everybody “knows” those books. I’m talking about the best book that, when you tell people that you love it, they go, “Huh? Never heard of it?”

I seriously doubt if any of the books that I've read would belong in the "huh" category. I'm pretty much a mainstream reader and a good portion of what I read comes from the recommendations of others. I'm not including text books or reference books because those shouldn't count. As I sit here looking at the shelf that contains my favorite books, I'd be completely shocked if nobody had heard of them.

  3. I went way back to my highschool year, to find my favorite book that I think will fit the "uh?" category. The book I chose was written in 1983..I believe. That way back than and I was so young. But I read the book when I was in my 20's.

Happy BTTs! Have a good Thursday and good weekend ahead!

  4. Judy~~I suppose if I could remember some of the books I read as a kid, a few might be unfamiliar to everyone else. I can't think back that far, lol.

    GT~~Thanks.

Pam~~I'll have to check out your response to see which one you're referring to.

Julia~~Thanks for the comment and stopping by. Happy BTT to you too.

  5. I would have to say the only book I read and enjoyed that would make people go Huh is The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio. It was written in the 1300's and I suppose unless you were into some seriously old stories, you probably didn't read it.

  8. It's a collection of 100 stories and one of them was printed in a history book. I thought the story was clever, so I went to the library to see what the other stories were and they had none. So I ordered it online just for fun and it was actually quite entertaining. The translation I have is good and the stories were entertaining, some more than others...
